Calf birth. Sometimes many of us get to be present for a calf birth, or very soon after the birth.
Cows and dairy. We have Holsteins, Jerseys and the rarer Dutch Belted. The dairy barn has a milking parlor, and the pottery studio is located in one section as well.
Meredith on a cow. Some folks really love animals, particularly cows. Meredith is not the first dairy manager who has thoroughly enjoyed working with animals.
Rooster. Yes, this chicken is one of ours. At various times over the years we've had an enthusiastic manager of chickens for eggs and meat.
Valerie harvests honey. Apiculture has long been practiced here, with modest success. Valerie is scraping the comb to release the harvested honey.
Elona dips tallow candles. At one time in the past some beef tallow candles were made from rendered beef fat. Elona is pictured here dipping candles with a goal of hardening them.
