“One of the greatest challenges in teaching sociology is to convey that social arrangements CAN be different from the status quo. The presentations that members of Twin Oaks have made in my sociology classes challenged students to reevaluate their views on such topics as consumerism, income inequality, gender relations, family structure, and social definitions of "normal" versus "deviant." I hope to have Twin Oaks present to my classes every semester.”
